Food Security:  A Review of the Basics and Problem Solving

Presented by Linda Gourash, M.D. 

This webinar is suitable for parents of children of all ages with Prader-Willi syndrome. 

There will be a 30 minute presentation by Dr. Gourash, followed by a 30 minute Q & A session.

Presenter

Dr. Gourash is a Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician. As the Medical Director of the Prader-Willi and Behavioral Disorders Program of the Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh she worked for more than 5 years almost exclusively with children and adults with Prader-Willi syndrome and related disorders who were referred for inpatient crisis intervention for medical and behavioral problems from throughout the USA and Canada. Dr. Gourash has served on the Board of Directors of the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association of the USA. She is currently providing clinical consultation for the International Prader-Willi Syndrome Organization and the PWSA (USA). She provides consultation and educational programs throughout the US and internationally through Pittsburgh Partnership, Specialists in PWS. She has a private Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics practice in Pittsburgh, PA and offers a PWS Consultation Clinic together with Dr. Janice Forster, MD for patients who travel to Pittsburgh.

Dr. Gourash is featured in a DVD, Food, Behavior, and Beyond produced by the PWSA and IPWSO who recorded her presentations for more widespread distribution.  


How long will the session last?
Each webinar will last approximately one hour and there will be a time for questions at the end of the presentation.

What is needed to participate?
In addition to a telephone with long distance calling capabilities, you will need the following to participate:

  • Internet Explorer® 6.0 or newer, Mozilla® Firefox® 2.0 or newer (JavaScript™ and Java™ enabled)
  • Windows® 2000, XP, 2003 Server or Vista
  • Cable modem, DSL, or better Internet connection
  • Minimum of Pentium® class 1GHz CPU with 512 MB of RAM (recommended) (2 GB of RAM for Windows® Vista)

For Mac-based participants:

  • Safari™ 3.0 or newer, Firefox® 2.0 or newer (JavaScript™ and Java™ enabled)
  • Mac OS® X 10.4 (Tiger®) or newer
  • PowerPC G4/G5 or Intel processor (512 MB of RAM or better recommended)
  • Cable modem, DSL, or better Internet connection

1.  Registration will close one hour before the start of the webinar (6:00 p.m. EST).
